More than 300 runners have now signed up to take part in the Great Birmingham Run Business Challenge on Sunday, October 16.

The Great Birmingham Run half marathon is one of the biggest events in the city’s sports calendar with 20,000 runners hitting the streets.

The event’s Business Challenge pits company teams against each other for fastest-time trophies depending on the size of the business.

Any team entering 12 or more runners automatically gets a trophy in the name of the company’s fastest finisher and all businesses feature in a special-edition magazine.

Great Birmingham Run Business Challenge: It’s more about bringing people together

Companies already signed up for this year’s Great Birmingham Run include ATSG Compliance, Charter Court Financial Services, Delcam, Highways England, HSBC, law firm JW Hinks, financial services experts KPMG, Leicestershire-based Sigma Components, Mazars LLP and Birmingham-based picture framing suppliers Lion Picture Framing, which has a team of 12 runners.

Managing Director Nicola Harrold is leading Lion’s Great Birmingham Run team and will be joined by runners from all divisions of the company.

“I’m not sure if we’ll win a Business Challenge trophy but that wasn’t the main motivation for doing this, it’s more about doing something together and to bring people together from different parts of the business,” said Nicola.
