Former Ocean Colour Scene guitarist Andy Bennett will be performing a free concert in Solihull’s Mell Square this Christmas.

The singer/songwriter, who has just released his debut single Hole in the Road, will be playing in the Merry Monk German Beer Bar in Mell Square on Thursday 10th December from 4.30pm.

Andy, aged 36, played guitar with hugely popular Birmingham band Ocean Colour Scene for 12 years before going solo in early 2015.

The multi-instrumentalist first played guitar with Britpop/Mod revivalists Ocean Colour Scene when he was a teenager at school. His introduction included an arena tour, which included an appearance at Wembley playing in front of a 15,000-strong audience. His band Sergeant supported Ocean Colour Scene and when Damon Minchella left in 2003 Andy joined the band.

He also plays in Ocean Colour Scene guitarist Steve Cradock’s band, supported Beady Eye and has played with the legendary Paul Weller.

The performance has been arranged by Solihull Business Improvement District. For more information visit www.solihullbid.co.uk
