At Edwin Ellis Creative Media, we believe in the power of storytelling — especially when it brings a historic and beautiful building to life for today’s visitors. That’s why we were so proud to work with Birmingham Cathedral to produce not one, but two brand new visitor guides for this iconic city centre landmark.
The first guide is a traditional printed companion for adults and heritage enthusiasts. Featuring professionally written narrative and stunning photography, it tells the remarkable story of the Cathedral’s architecture, its place in Birmingham’s history, and of course, its world-famous Burne-Jones stained glass windows – four masterpieces that bathe the building in heavenly colour.

Alongside this, with the beautiful work of local illustrator Rachel Suzanne, we’ve also created a brand-new illustrated children’s guide – a more visual, interactive experience designed to spark imagination in younger visitors. With vibrant illustrations and minimal text, it encourages children to explore the Cathedral space, engage with its art and design, and even sketch their own stained glass. Who knows? We may just inspire the next Edward Burne-Jones.
Both guides were developed with care, collaboration and creativity – and we’re thrilled to help Birmingham Cathedral share its story with audiences of all ages.
If you’re part of a cathedral, church, or heritage institution looking to connect with visitors in meaningful and accessible ways, we’d love to work with you.
