Typography news: Apple’s New York is a must for IOS users

In addition to its headline-grabbing hardware releases tech behemoth Apple is doing some pretty exciting things in typography development.

Among these is this IOS release of a type called New York; an homage to a serif Apple has used on and off since the early 1980s days of Macintosh.

Apple techies say: “This all-new, Apple-designed serif typeface is based on essential aspects of historical type styles and is designed to work on its own as well as alongside San Francisco.”

It’s bloomin’ gorgeous and suits our company name – Edwin Ellis – just perfectly.
